FRUITPORT — The Fruitport Trojans scored late in an 8-5 non-league baseball victory over Sparta.
With the game tied at 4-all, Fruitport plated two runs on a double by Cody Nash.
The Trojans, which had eight hits, were led by Andrew Spyke, Nash and Ryan Bosch with two hits each.
Trevor Rusnak had a key double that helped Fruitport extend its lead.
Bosch picked up the victory in relief with five strikeouts in three innings of work. Christian Kennedy picked up the save.
Fruitport will face Whitehall at noon Saturday in district play at Oakridge.
