Garcia nets game-winning goal, Whitehall advances in Division 3 soccer districts

GRANT – The Whitehall girls soccer team earned a first-round district victory against Grant in exciting fashion on Wednesday.

The Vikings scored a goal off a penalty kick with 19 seconds left in the game to win, 4-3.

Ava Garcia led Whitehall with a pair of goals, including the game-winner. 

Ashley TenBrink and Abbey Beerman each chipped in with a goal.

Grant closes out the season with a record of 6-11-2.

Whitehall advances to next Wednesday’s district game against host Newaygo. Gametime is 5 p.m.
