REED CITY — The Holton Red Devils hoisted the trophy for the Reed City Crossroads softball tournament on Saturday.

The Red Devils defeated Pine River 8-5 in the opener and then defeated Reed City 7-6 in the championship game.

In the victory over Pine River, Ryann Robins belted a grand slam home run in the fourth inning to spark the Red Devils. Abbie Fowler had two hits. Kenzie Greene was the winning pitcher. She allowed one earned run and struck out seven in 5 1/3 innings of work.

In the title game, with Reed City leading 6-5 in the top of the seventh inning, Fowler delivered a key two-run single that put the Red Devils up by a run. In the bottom of the seventh, Fowler struck out the side and Holton celebrated the title.

Fowler finished the game with two hits and four RBI. One of her hits was a double. Green and Emma Monette also had two hits each.
