KENT CITY — Kyler Larson got the Kent City Eagles off to a good start on Tuesday in a baseball doubleheader sweep over Chippewa Hills.

Larson took the mound in the opener and pitched a two-hitter with 18 strikeouts as the Eagles blanked Chippewa Hills, 4-0. The Eagles won the second game, 7-3.

Leading hitters in the opener were Justin Mack and Josh Anderson with two hits each.

In the second game, Troy Atwood was the winning pitcher with six strikeouts in seven innings of work. He allowed two earned runs and five hits. At the plate, Atwood had a double and two RBI. Larson added two hits.

The Eagles scored four runs in the third inning to grab the lead. Kent City finished with six hits and was aided by five Warrior errors.
