SCOTTVILLE — Ludington’s baseball team finished 1-1 at the Larson’s Ace Hardware Invitational tournament Saturday in Scottville, losing to Mason County Central 3-0 and winning a 4-3 decision over Hart.

Nathan Dillehay was on the hill for the Orioles against Mason County Central and did not allow a hit or an earned run while ringing up nine strikeouts.

He also finished the game with one hit and drew a walk to get on base twice.

Jonny Weinert picked up the win against Hart, yielding seven hits and no earned runs while striking out 11.

Ryan Kandelac led the Orioles hitting attack going 2-for-2 with a walk and a run scored, while Gage Jones was 2-for-4.

“We are very disappointed with our effort,” said Ludington coach Evan Kroeze. “Our senior captains Dillehay and Weinert pitched their hearts out and deserved better support. Offensively, we have to get better. Too many times we are not making in-game adjustments, repeating mistakes and leaving too many runners on base.”

Ludington fell to 7-10 overall and takes a 4-4 West Michigan Conference Lakes Division record into Tuesday’s game at Fremont.
