WHITEHALL — The depth of the Manistee girls’ track team led them to the West Michigan Conference Lakes Division track championship.

Manistee won four events in earning 136 points and the title. Whitehall had eight first-place finishes and took second with 129 points. Ludington finished third with 101 points, followed by Montague (68), Oakridge (41), Fremont (38) and Orchard View (9).

Leading the way for Manistee was Audrey Huizenga, who was involved in three first-place finishes. She won the 400 and was part of the Manistee relays teams in the 4 x 200 and 4 x 400 that took first place.

Whitehall senior Maelie Hope finished first in four individual events (100, 200, discus and shot put). Ludington’s Catherine Karboske finished first in the 100 hurdles, 300 hurdles and the pole vault.
