MANISTEE — Manistee hosted Evart in a non-conference single baseball game Friday afternoon at Chippewa Field and secured a narrow 1-0 victory.

The Chippewas scored the only run in the bottom of the fourth inning, and the defense and pitching took care of the rest in locking up the team’s 13th victory.

Offensively, the Chippewas managed just four hits on the day and no one had more than one.

Adam Workman did not have a hit in the game, but was credited with a run batted in for the game-winner.

Ethan and Jaret Edmondson, Jeffery Huber and Donavyn Kirchinger had one hit apiece.

Now 13-4 overall, the Chippewas resume West Michigan Conference Lakes Division play Tuesday when they host Montague for a doubleheader.
