SAUGATUCK — The Mona Shores Sailors captured first place in the OK-Green Golf Jamboree on Wednesday.

The event was played at Clearbrook Golf Club in Saugatuck.

The Sailors shot a 163, which was nine shots better than runner-up Reeths-Puffer. Zeeland West finished third (177) followed by Holland (180) and Zeeland East (193). Wyoming did not have a complete team.

For the Rockets, it as a solid day with their second-place finish. Junior Dylan Panozzo shot a 39, which was good for third overall. Freshman Kristian Brown finished seventh overall with a 42. Tanner Bonjernoor, a senior, came in ninth overall with a 44. Junior Mason Cregg shot a 47, followed by Ayden Hartzell with a 48 and Jacob Pierce at 51.

“Overall, it was a great day for the Rockets,” said Coach Matt Pallett. “By placing second, we have put ourselves in a position to reach our goal of a top 2 finish in the league.”

The Rockets head to Lincoln Thursday for the continuation of a rain-shortened jamboree.
