NORTON SHORES – The Mona Shores boys lacrosse team crushed Kalamazoo Central in the opening round of the regional tournament on Friday evening.
The Sailors blanked Kalamazoo Central, 15-0.
“Kalamazoo is a tough team, but our programs are just in different places right now,” said Sailor coach Murle Greer. “They fought hard and we appreciate the effort.”
The Sailors limited the Maroons to just seven shots on net.
Jake Nanna led the way with five goals and a pair of assists while Dylan Fett scored four goals and assisted on another.
JJ Boos chipped in eight ground balls, two goals and two assists.
“We brought up nine players from JV to help us prepare for playoffs and they all got play time,” said Greer.
Cullen Conrad, Conner Osterhart and Quinn Addicot each netted their first varsity goal.
Goalkeepers Parker Hayward and Matt Tallman posted the shutout.
Mona Shores (16-1) will play the winner of Grandville vs. Zeeland on Friday in the regional semifinal round. The match will be at West Ottawa Stadium.
