Mona Shores soccer falls to top-ranked Unity Christian, 1-0

NORTON SHORES – The Mona Shores girls soccer team battled to the bitter end against the No. 1-ranked girls soccer team in Division 3.

In the end, the Sailors dropped a hard fought 1-0 decision to Hudsonville Unity Christian, which scored the game’s lone goal in the final 10 minutes of the game.

The Sailors’ defense limited Unity Christian to four shots on net. Lauren Hylland, Emma Anderson, Ali Phillips and Mal Hogston were instrumental in keeping the Crusaders in check.

Goalkeeper Jersey VanderWall stopped four shots in net for Mona Shores.

Mona Shores (9-2-1, 6-0-1) will be at home on Monday against Spring Lake.
