FREMONT — Emma Monette delivered a two-run double in the top of the seventh inning and sparked Holton to an 8-7 victory in the second game of a softball doubleheader.

Holton also won the opener, 11-3.

Monette’s hit erased a 6-5 deficit and pushed the Red Devils into a position to sweep the twinbill. Monette finished with two hits. Ryann Robins led the way with three hits, including two doubles, and winning pitcher Abbie Fowler had two RBI.

Fremont was led in Game 2 by Savannah Keur with three hits. Elise Pfeiffer added two hits, one a double, and McKenzie Gugins had two hits. Madeline Baden had a triple.

In the first game, Robins led Holton at the plate with a home run, a triple and two RBI. Aubrey Goyings had a triple, single and two RBI. Sam McCormick and Grace Thompsen had two hits each. Kenzie Greene was the winning pitcher.

Fremont was led by Gugins with three hits, including a triple.

The Packers take on Morley-Stanwood under the lights Saturday at Branstrom Park. The first game begins at 6 p.m.
