PLYMOUTH, Ind. — The Muskegon Community College Jayhawk men’s golf team is in 19th place after the first round of the NJCAA National Tournament.

The event is at Swan Lake Resort (Black Course) in Plymouth, Ind.

South Mountain Community College has a two-shot lead over Parkland College. South Mountain CC shot an opening round 281 to Parkland’s 283. Kirkwood Community College is third at 284. Grand Rapids Community College is in 16th place at 314 and the Jayhawks are 19th with 317.

Mason Minkel from Heartland Community College is atop the leaderboard after shooting a 9-under-par 63.

Muskegon’s Steve Cullen is tied for 49th at 3-over-par 75. Ben Zwick and Dylan Lisman are tied for 90th place after shooting 80s. Andrew Taylor is 113th at 82 and Tyler Tallefson is 122nd at 85.

The tournament includes 22 teams and 130 golfers.
