HAMILTON — It was a very successful day on the baseball diamond for the North Muskegon Norsemen.

In the Hamilton Invitational, North Muskegon defeated Otsego, 8-2, in the opener and then took down host Hamilton, 9-4, in the second game.

In the opener, Denny Belmonte had two hits, scored two runs and knocked in a run. Ben Meyers had a triple, two walks and had two RBI. Troy McManus pitched 5 2/3 innings and allowed no runs on three hits. He struck out eight. Jaxon Bean pitched one inning.

In the second game, Meyers had two hits and scored two run to lead the Norsemen. Carter Meier also had two hits and knocked in a pair of runs. Sam Gallo was the winning pitcher.
