The Ravenna Bulldogs used solid hitting and good pitching to post two softball shutouts on Friday.

The Bulldogs defeated Newaygo, 16-0, in the first game and 11-0 in the nightcap.

In the first game, Emma Gillard had three hits, including two home runs. Emma Herremans also had three hits, including a home run and a triple. Kara Postema also belted a home run. Winning pitcher Addison Gillard had four hits, including two doubles. Kendra Denhoff had two doubles among her three hits.

In the nightcap, Gillard was the winning pitcher with a one-hitter. She struck out 11.

Leading hitters were Amelia Porter and Emily Postema with two hits each. Riley Homoly had a triple.
