FREMONT – The Reeths-Puffer girls soccer team struck early and ran away with a victory in the opening round of the district tournament on Wednesday.

The Rockets outshot the Packers by a wide margin and won, 5-0.

Billie Tryska and Sophia Hekkema led the way with a pair of goals apiece while Malori Messer added a single score.

The Rockets’ Ava Klopp earned the shutout with two saves.

Hallie Snyder stopped 11 shots in net for the Packers. The Rockets outshot the Packers, 16-2.

Reeths-Puffer (12-5-3) will take on the winner of Ludington vs. Muskegon in the semifinal round. The game will be held at Fruitport on Tuesday. 

Fremont ended it season at 14-5-1.
