COMSTOCK PARK — The Reeths-Puffer pulled out a tight victory in Game 1 then surged to victory in Game 2 on Saturday at LMCU Ballpark.

The Rockets defeated Montague 4-3 in the opener and 11-4 in the nightcap. The games were played at the home of the West Michigan Whitecaps.

The Rockets grabbed the lead late in the game and escaped with the one-run victory. Jaxson Whitaker, Holden Earnest and Trent Reichert combined to limit Montague to just five hits. Lukas Johnson had two hits.

Owen Petersen and Kade Johnson pitched for Montague. Bryton Belinger had two hits for the Wildcats.

In Game 2, the Rocket bats came alive, led by David Wilhelm with three hits. Kyle Schlaff and Johnson each had two.

A five-run third inning pushed the Rockets into the lead. In that inning, Reichert had an RBI single and Johnson plated two runs with a single. Caiden Theisen also had an RBI-single in the inning.

Colton Bessinger, Earnest, Jack Yonkman and Cade Paugh all took the mound for the Rockets.

Ryver Jarka pitched for Montague. Nick Moss and Belinger came on in relief.
