KENT CITY — The Kent City Eagles celebrated Senior Night in grand fashion on Tuesday night with a sweep of a softball doubleheader of the Chippewa Hills Warriors.

Led by its seniors, Kent City won the opener, 10-0, on the strength of Jaycee Hoffman’s 17-strikeout no hitter. In the second game, the Eagles won 17-7 in six innings.

In the first game, Jaycee Hoffman mowed down the Warriors on the mound, and at the plate, she had three hits, and knocked in a pair of runs. Senior Lexie Bowers had three hits and scored three runs. Senior Abby Pecynski had two hits and two RBI. Hannah Stellini had two hits, including a double.

In the nightcap, Jaycee Hoffman pitched 4 2/3 innings and allowed no hits. She added two hits, one a triple. Laynee Hoffman had three hits and two RBI while Pecynski had two RBI. Savannah Miller also had a pair of hits.

Kent City scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth to signal the 10-run rule and the end of the game.
