MUSKEGON — Shelby scored two goals in the first half and one in the second and held off Oakridge 3-1 in a West Michigan Conference soccer game on Friday.
Playing on the Eagles’ pitch, the Tigers scored just four minutes into the game on a corner kick by Kylie Brown on an assist from Haydee Pedroza.
The Tigers tacked on their second goal four minutes before halftime with Alyse Erickson getting a shot past the keeper on an assist from America Cruz.
Oakridge drew within a goal of the Tigers when Jazmine Nguyen scored after a corner kick.
Shelby again led by two when Kendall Zaverl took a tight window pass from Brown.
The Tigers improved to 8-9-1 on the season and conclude the regular season at Orchard View on Monday.
It was the last regular-season game for the Eagles, who take a 5-11-3 record into Friday’s district game at home against Orchard View.
