SPRING LAKE — Visiting Caledonia plated a run in the top of the ninth inning and edged Spring Lake, 4-3 in baseball on Monday.
 
Spring Lake led 3-0 after three innings, but over the next two innings, Caledonia tied it at 3-all. 
 
After taking the lead, the Lakers squandered several scoring chances and that allowed the Fighting Scots to battle back, tie the game and eventually win it. The winning run was unearned.
 
Oliver Smies led Spring Lake with three hits. Zach Schlepp took the loss on the mound despite allowing no hits and strike out six in four innings of relief.
 
Spring Lake (14-9) will travel to Hudsonville Unity Christian for an OK-Blue doubleheader on Tuesday.
