NORTON SHORES – The Spring Lake Lakers posted a hard-fought 3-0 non-league soccer victory over the Mona Shores Sailors on Monday.

The Lakers, ranked No. 2 in Division 2 in the latest rankings, converted on three of their four shots.

Clara Howe opened the scoring for the Lakers to make it 1-0. Kyle Shelton scored the second goal and Ada Halvorsen added an insurance goal.

Mona Shores (9-3-1, 6-0-1) will be at home on Saturday to face Troy.

Spring Lake (9-1-2, 3-1-2) will travel to Cedar Springs on Thursday.
