MUSKEGON–The area’s top track athletes gathered for the annual West Michigan Track Invitational on Wednesday at Reeths-Puffer.

A total of 26 school district teams gathered at Rocket Field.

Top individual performances for the event in the boys’ division included Muskegon junior Destin Piggee, who both the titles in the 100 meters and the 200 meters.

Hart senior Clayton Ackley took the top spot in the 3200 meters while finishing in second place in the 1600 meters.

Spring Lake senior Jaxson Tober claimed the title in the 300-meter hurdles and finished in second place in the 110-meter hurdles.

Hart senior Kellen Kimes took the title in the shot put while finishing in second place in the discus.

In the girls’ division, Whitehall senior Maelie Hope claimed three titles. She won the 200 meters, shot put and discus. She finished in second place in the 100 meters.

Hart sophomore Addison Hovey took home titles in the high jump and the 100 meters. Hovey also had a second-place finish in the 200 meters.

Mason County Eastern sophomore Payton Haynes won the 100-meter hurdles along with the pole vault and finished third in the 300-meter hurdles.
