MUSKEGON — A big 9-7 win in the nightcap gave the Hart baseball team a split of Monday’s doubleheader with Western Michigan Christian.

The Warriors won the opener, 10-0.

The Pirates bats were silent in the first game, but came to life in the second contest and rapped out nine hits.

Blake Weirich went 3-for-4 with one run batted in and three runs scored. Mitchell Slade was also 3-for-4 but drove in five runs.

Halen Boos was solid behind the plate again and helped Tyler VanderZanden earn the pitching victory. Avery Guikema worked the final three innings.
