HART — White Cloud earned a pair of non-conference softball victories on Thursday afternoon, 7-3 and 14-13, against the Hart Pirates.

White Cloud trailed in the opener, 2-0, after three, but climbed into a 2-2 tie with a pair of runs in the top of the fifth. The Indians then added five in the sixth.
 
The Pirates were only able to get one run back in the bottom of the sixth.
 
Kelsey Copenhaver started the game in the pitcher’s circle for the Pirates and only allowed three hits and struck out eight over six innings.
 
Hart finished the game with just three hits, with Nora Chickering, Abby Hicks and Makenna Carrier managing one apiece.
 
The Indians won the nightcap on a walk-off single by Jorja Baker.
 
Gabby Quijas took the loss in the circle for the Pirates. She worked 4 1/3 innings in relief and allowed nine runs on four hits with one strikeout.
 
Gabby Schmieding started the game and lasted one inning, allowing five runs on two hits.
 
Hart knocked out six hits with Carrier and Copenhaver each contributing two hits.
 
Kiara Edwards went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead White Cloud.
 
The Pirates are scheduled to host North Muskegon in a West Michigan Conference doubleheader Monday.
 
White Cloud returns to action Friday at home against Kent City.
