The Whitehall Vikings earned a pair of non-conference baseball victories over the Newaygo Lions on Thursday.

The Vikings won the opener, 7-2, and the nightcap, 11-1.

In Game 1, Landon Howe had two hits, both doubles, and Kyle Stratton had a pair of hits to lead Whitehall.

Grant Harkness had three hits and Remy Wells had two to pace the Lions.

In the second game, Stratton had three hits, scored three runs and knocked in three runs. Among his hits were a triple and a double. Noland Taranko had three hits. Howe and Jack McDowell added two hits. Isaac VanAmberg was the winning pitcher. He had eight strikeouts in five innings of work.

Newaygo had four singles in the game.
