HESPERIA — The Holton Red Devils quickly took care of their business on Friday in winning a Division 4 district softball crown.
In the opener, Holton defeated host Hesperia, 15-0. In the district final, Holton defeated Mason County Eastern, 22-0. Both games took three innings to complete.
The Red Devils advance to the regional tournament at noon next Saturday against host Onekama.
On Friday, Holton scored seven runs in each of the first two innings against the Panthers. Sydney McCormick belted a home run and finished with three RBI. Winning pitcher Abbie Fowler had three hits, one a double, and on the mound allowed one hit and struck out seven.
Lexi Bartolameolli and Erin Monette each had two hits and Ryann Robins had three RBI.
In the title game, the Red Devils put up 16 runs in the first inning and six more in the second.
Kenzie Greene, the winning pitcher, had three hits. On the mound, she allowed no hits and struck out four.
Robins had two hits, one a triple, and four RBI. Fowler added a pair of hits.
