MUSKEGON — The Mona Shores Sailors put plenty of runners on base, but couldn’t get the key hit to bring them home on Wednesday night.

The result was a 4-1 loss to Cedar Springs in the Division 1 regional baseball semifinal game at Mona Shores.

Cedar Springs moves on to the 12:30 p.m. Saturday regional final against Mattawan, a 6-3 winner over Zeeland East on Wednesday. The regional title game will be contested at Central Michigan University.

The Sailors’ lone run came in the third inning when Isaac Habetler singled to score Zack Keessen.

Cedar Springs scored three runs in the bottom of the third and a single run in the fourth.

Mona Shores threatened in the bottom of the seventh with the bases loaded, but again, could not produce a key hit.

Habetler and Javanni Johnson each had two hits for the Sailors. Jaxon Huffman took the loss on the mound, his second in the last 2 1/2 seasons.
