MUSKEGON–Muskegon Catholic Central senior Chase Willer recently signed his national letter of intent to continue his football career at Kalamazoo College.

Kalamazoo College is a member of the MIAA conference and a Division III college. The Hornets compiled a record of 3-7 last season and went 0-6 in league play.

Willer played four seasons of varsity football at Catholic, where he started as a running back and slot receiver for two years. On the defensive side, he played cornerback.

During his four-year career the Crusaders’ compiled a 32-9 overall record and appeared in the MHSAA football playoffs each season under Coach Steve Czerwon.

“I love the area and the vibes I get from the coaches, players and facilities,” Willer said. “I feel like I can thrive there academically and athletically.”

But, he will always remember his time at Muskegon Catholic.

“Being a part of a tradition-rich school like MCC that not only excels in academics, but is a historical powerhouse in football and being able to be a part of the school has given me the best advantage to be a great student-athlete in college,” said Willer.

Willer is undecided on his major, however, is considering a political science degree. Willer has a 3.5 grade point average and is the son of Nick and Holly Willer.
