RAVENNA — The Ravenna Bulldogs punched their ticket to the regional softball tournament next week with a 4-1 victory over the Kent City Eagles.

Ravenna heads to Newaygo for regional action at 10 a.m. Saturday against Chippewa Hills.

Addison Gillard was the winning pitcher in the title game. She allowed one run on three hits and struck out nine.

Kara Postema and Gillard each had two hits for Ravenna. Emily Postema had a triple.

Kent City’s Jacee Hoffman took the loss on the mound.  She allowed four runs and eight hits in six innings of work. She struck out six.

In the district semifinal, Ravenna blanked Montague, 15-0. Emma Gillard was the winning pitcher with two innings pitched and five strikeouts. Riley Homoly pitched the third inning and struck out one.

Emma Herremans and Kara Postema led the Ravenna offense with three hits each. Postema had a home run, triple and a single while Herremans had a home run, a double and a single. Homoly had two hits, including a double.

Kent City earned its place in the final game with a 7-4 victory over Newaygo.

Jacee Hoffman was stellar on the mound with 16 strikeouts in seven innings of work.

Lexie Bowers had two hits for the Eagles, which scored three runs in each of the first two innings.
