Muskegon Community College goes winless in volleyball invitational

ROCKFORD, IL – A young Muskegon Community College volleyball team battled against nationally-ranked teams and went 0-4 on the weekend.

The No. 9 Jayhawks fell to No. 4 Johnson County, No. 7 Iowa Central, No. 10 Kirkwood and Des Moines area.

Madisyn Dykema (Reeths-Puffer) had 25 kills with 14 digs and Rachel Romero (Hesperia) had 16 kills and three blocks.

Leah Ellis (Reeths-Puffer) chipped in 18 digs, 12 kills and three aces while Kendra Kieft (Spring Lake) added 39 digs.

MCC will host Southwestern Community College on Tuesday in its home opener.
