Allen, Grant lead Reeths-Puffer boys to runner-up finish in OK-Green cross country meet

NORTON SHORES – The Reeths-Puffer boys’ cross country team, led by a 2-3 finish by Jaxon Allen and Kye Grant, finished second in Wednesday’s OK-Green jamboree hosted by Mona Shores.

Zeeland West finished with 36 points, followed by Reeths-Puffer with 60, Zeeland  East with 77, Holland at 84, Mona Shores with 122, Grand Rapids Union with 139, Wyoming at 220 and Muskegon with 245.

Noah Lambers, from Holland, was the winner with a time of 15:59.0. Rockets’ Allen (16:33.50) and Grant (17:04.60), finished second and third, respectively.

In the girls’ race, Zeeland East captured the title with 21 points, followed by Zeeland West with 48, Mona Shores with 91, Reeths-Puffer with 92, Holland at 132 and Wyoming with 185.

Zeeland East’s Emma Drnek was the winner in a time of 18:38.90. The top area finisher was Jersi Bilek, from Reeths-Puffer, with a time of 20:25.10. She finished fifth.
