FREMONT – The Fremont girls basketball team used a strong defensive effort to claim their first win in more than 20 years against Oakridge on Tuesday evening.

The Packers struggled, but managed to bag the WMC-Lakes victory, 39-18.

Taylor DeKuiper had her breakout game with a double-double of 10 points, 10 rebounds and eight steals. Mia Clemence threw in nine points, seven rebounds and five steals.

Cambria Guenthardt had eight points for the Eagles and Anna Lundquist chipped in six points. 

Fremont (1-3, 1-2) will be at Montague on Friday for more league play.

Oakridge (0-3, 0-2) will see more conference action on Friday as they host crosstown rival Orchard View.
