SPRING LAKE – Karson George had a career-high 19 points as the Spring Lake boys’ basketball team opened the OK Conference-Blue season with a win on Friday.
The Lakers claimed a rivalry win over Fruitport, 63-42.
The Lakers held a small 31-26 lead after the first two quarters, then used a 32-16 scoring advantage in the second half to stay on top.
Eli Morrison poured in 15 points, while Zach Schlepp and Ayden Ayers scored 11 points apiece. Jaden Core contributed nine rebounds.
Spring Lake (5-3, 1-0) continues league action as it hosts Coopersville on Tuesday.
Fruitport (4-4, 0-1) will travel to Holland Christian on Tuesday for a conference contest.
