BIG RAPIDS – Ravenna softball came up just short in a pair of tight losses to Evart at Ferris State University on Saturday.
The Bulldogs fell, 1-0 and 9-7.
Addison Gillard did all she could on the mound in the opener, giving up just one hit while striking out nine. Natalie Rosel entered in the sixth inning and had one strikeout.
Riley Homoly and Rosel each had a double and a single while Gillard and Raelyn Olsen chipped in singles for Ravenna.
In Game 2, Gillard struck out nine batters and collected four hits of her own at the plate. Rosel entered in relief and struck out four and had two hits.
Taylor Nutt, Kendra Denhof, Homoly, Sydney Morrissey, Emily Postema and Reese Herremans each had hits for Ravenna.
Ravenna visits Sacred Heart Academy on Monday.
