Shelby ended up with a pair of baseball victories on Tuesday over Ravenna.

The Game 1 victory was the completion of a game from April 16 and the second game was a scheduled game. In the opener, Shelby won, 5-2, and won 7-2 in the nightcap.

In the first game, Shelby was leading 3-0 last month when the game was halted due to darkness. Shelby increased its lead to 4-0 in the fifth inning on an RBI single by Cam Smith. Ravenna plated to runs in the fifth to cut the deficit to 4-2.

Jaden Furman delivered a sacrifice fly to provide Shelby with its finals run. Dayday Garcia was the winning pitcher with a solid four innings of work.

In the nightcap, Chase Simon got the Tigers off and running with a two-run double in the opening inning. In the second inning, he came through again, this time with a three-run double that increased Shelby’s lead to 5-0. Carson Stoval had an RBI double in the third to make it 6-0. The Bulldogs scored single runs in the sixth and seventh on RBI singles by Wyatt Young and Brody Anderson.

Simon and Trevor Weiss pitched for the Tigers with Weiss picking up the victory with four innings of work.

Shelby is now 16-12 overall.
