NORTON SHORES – The Mona Shores baseball team split an OK-Green twin bill with Zeeland West on Tuesday.

The Sailors fell in the opener, 10-7, but won the second game, 8-1.

The Sailors stranded 15 base runners in game one, squashing their attempt at a comeback.

Brady Recknagel took the loss on the mound, but led the offense with two hits, a run and an RBI. Zack Keessen had a hit, two runs and two walks, while Jayden Ammeraal added one hit, one run and three walks.

In the nightcap, Trevor Cunningham gave up seven hits, one run and struck out a batter.

Hunter Krueger and Recknagel each collected three hits.

Mona Shores (18-6 overall, 13-4 OK-Green) will travel to Zeeland West to complete the three-game series on Thursday.
