The Buccaneers were topped by Hudsonville in three sets, 13-25, 25-22 and 15-10.

The Bucs went 2-1 in pool play with wins over Manchester and Livonia Stevenson. The loss came against Northview.

“We played a lot of kids today and gained so much great experience,” said Grand Haven coach Aaron Smaka. “We got better every match we played and learned a lot today.”

Mallory Woiteshek led the day with 29 kills, 30 digs and five blocks. Ellery Berndt had 17 kills and six blocks, while Allie Musial added 16 kills on offense. Sara Weber and Bria Hogeboom chipped in 54 and 33 assists, respectively.
