LUDINGTON — Ludington split a home quad Wednesday night, defeating Clare in a five-set marathon (25-15, 20-25, 25-19, 25-22) and losing to McBain (22-25, 19-25).
“We played really well tonight,” said Orioles’ coach Liz Holden. “McBain is a really solid team with seven seniors this year, but we came out really strong against them.
“I saw a lot of really good things tonight. It was a great way to find those things we need to work on moving forward.
“The girls played some good defense and pulled together in the end. I am excited to see how much better we will be further into the season, because they exceeded my expectations already.”
Jordyn Anderson had a big match for the Orioles, serving up eight aces, knocking down nine kills, providing 22 assists, hustling for 16 digs and make six blocks.
Saviera Moser had 33 digs, Samantha Zwick eight digs, Jaelyn Laird 14 kills and Sierra Surd five kills.
