PETOSKEY — Ludington scored the only goal of the game in the first half and made it hold up for a 1-0 non-conference boys soccer win over Petoskey on Wednesday.

The game was played in Petoskey.

“We really dictated what was going to happen in the game, both offensively and defensively,” said Orioles head coach Kris Anderson. “We really didn’t give Petoskey much opportunity to build any dangerous scoring opportunities.

“Just a solid 80-minute game by our team. It was a good bounce back win after that loss to Fruitport on Monday.”

Steele Stowe netted the goal for the Orioles off an assist from Ayden Eaton.

Gabe Gamez earned the shutout in goal, making two saves on the only two shots taken by the Northmen.

Ludington (2-1-2) returns to action Friday by hosting Cadillac in another non-conference contest.
