MUSKEGON HEIGHTS – The Muskegon Heights Tigers stepped into their era of 8-man football and emerged with an impressive victory on Friday night.
The Tigers dismantled Brethren 48-16 on their homefield for their first victory since the 2021 season when the Tigers qualified for the playoffs.
Muskegon Heights quarterback Robert Wallace completed 18-of-28 passes and three touchdown passes.
Damarion Buchanan accounted for 176 yards on the ground and three touchdowns while Jamarion Taylor caught four passes for 125 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Cartiyah Harris had three touches for 75 yards and a touchdown. Lunden Fletcher rushed three times for 55 yards and a touchdown.
On defense, Buchanan had 12 tackles and four sacks. He also recovered a fumble for a touchdown. Harris had four tackles and a pair of sacks. Marquan Paggett had five tackles, two for loss.
The Tigers travel to Bangor next week.
