HOWARD CITY – The Kent City football team hit the road for a trip to Howard City and lost to the host Vikings, 40-22 on Friday night.
Tri County led 26-14 at the half and the Eagles couldn’t make up the lost ground.
Eagle quarterback Andre Meade was 4-of-7 for 65 yards and rushed for 34 yards and two scores on five carries. Logan Thompson had 13 rushes for 81 yards and a touchdown. Sammy Anderson rushed for 53 yards on 10 carries and caught two passes for 35 yards. Cooper Stinson had eight rushing attempts for 35 yards.
On defense, Cooper Houtman led the way with eight tackles, while Stinson threw in seven tackles, including one for a loss. Grayson Preston made six tackles and Thompson had five tackles, with one tackle for a loss. Meade recorded five tackles.
Kent City (3-2, 1-0) will be at home on Friday against Central Montcalm for a CSAA-White matchup.
