VICKSBURG — Ludington picked up a pair of wins at the Vicksburg quad on Wednesday night, losing to the host team to begin the night and beating Wayland and Zeeland West.
The Orioles lost to Vicksburg in two sets, 18-25, 7-25. But they rallied to beat Wayland, 21-25, 25-19, 15-7 and Zeeland West, 25-17, 20-25, 15-3.
“We started out rocky after a long ride on the bus with Vicksburg, but once the girls started clicking it was a totally different team,” Ludington coach Liz Holden said. “They played up and played hard. There were a lot of great saves and our net game was really good tonight. I’m seeing a lot of improvement each day and they really earned those wins tonight.”
Ludington was led by Jordyn Anderson with 34 assists, 23 digs, six blocks and four aces, Jaelyn Laird with 20 kills and eight blocks, Madilynn Lynn with nine blocks, Saviera Moser with 19 digs and Lilly Slater with 10 kills. Kaia Jones had eight aces, 15 digs and seven kills.
