NORTH MUSKEGON – The Montague volleyball team came out on top of a hard-fought match against North Muskegon on Tuesday.

“It was a tough match, back and forth all night but in the end, we couldn’t terminate when we needed to,” said North Muskegon coach Kammi Eacker. “Huge kudos to Montague. They were so scrappy we couldn’t find open floor on their side of the net.”

The Wildcats defeated the Norse, 25-22, 25-22, 17-25 and 25-15.

Olivia Peterson led NM with seven kills, 20 assists, nine digs and three blocks. Addie Falkowski added six kills, 28 digs and two blocks, while Jolie Fellows scored five aces and had 26 digs.

Delaney Young threw in four kills and Emma Buchmiller had 14 digs. Isabella Fornaro made six blocks.

“We served tough and put some good runs together, but tonight just didn’t go our way,” Eacker said. “I saw a lot of grit and heart, so on to the next.”

North Muskegon and Montague will compete in the Fruitport Invitational on Saturday.
