NORTH MUSKEGON – The host North Muskegon Norsemen jumped out to a 21-0 lead after one quarter and cruised to a 42-6 West Michigan Conference Rivers Division victory over Hart.

On the first play from scrimmage, North Muskegon struck pay dirt on a 57-yard pass from Bryce Colbert to Drew Bartos. On NM’s very next play from scrimmage, Colbert found Charlie Meyers on a 52-yard touchdown. Later in the quarter, Hunter Wilder scored from a yard out. On each score, Owen Booth kicked the extra point.

Eman Hertzler got Hart on the board in the second quarter on a 5-yard touchdown run.

But soon after, Colbert threw his third touchdown pass of the game with a 24-yard strike to TJ Byard. Again, Booth added the PAT.

Norseman Tristan Thomas scored the only touchdown of the third quarter on a 4-yard touchdown run and Booth kicked the PAT.

Byard caught an 8-yard pass from Colbert in the final quarter and Booth added his sixth PAT.

Colbert finished 15-for-18 for 304 yards and four touchdowns. Byard had seven catches for 123 yards and Bartos had 92 yards on three catches. Meyers had two catches for 60 yards.

Thomas carried eight times for 44 yards, Landen Grimm added 40 yards on four carries and Wilder had five rushes for 25 yards.

Wilder led the defense with nine tackles, two for loss. Henry Husmann and Meyers each had seven tackles. Jaden Villalpando broke up two passes and had one interception. Cullen Bartos also had an interception.

North Muskegon travels to Montague next week while Hart will be at Mason County Central.
