FRUITPORT – The Fruitport volleyball team made a clean three-set sweep against Hopkins to tally another OK-Silver win on Thursday evening.

The Trojans cruised to victory with set scores of 25-10, 25-16 and 25-15.

“We came out strong in the first set and maintained the momentum throughout the match,” said Fruitport coach Nicole Bayle. “It was a total team effort.”

Sadie Haase led the Trojans with 14 kills, five aces and nine digs. Gracelynn Olson helped spread the offense to keep Hopkins’ defense on their toes and added seven kills, five aces, 27 assists and six digs.

Izabel Hanson-Wilbur had six kills, two aces and eight digs, while Ellie Stroup chipped in seven kills and five digs. Emma Fecher scored three aces and made 12 digs.

“The defense and serve receive areas we had focused on heavily in practice this week were outstanding, contributing to the dominant performance,” said Bayle. “Their cohesive play and relentless energy ensured a well-deserved sweep and highlighted the team’s growth and preparation.”

Fruitport (16-8, 4-0) will host Big Rapids, Fremont and Hart for a quad match on Wednesday.
