WHITEHALL – Gavin Craner scored four touchdowns to lead the Whitehall football team to a 47-10 win over Ludington on Friday in a West Michigan Conference Lakes division showdown.
The Vikings scored the lone first-quarter touchdown on a 3-yard run by Craner.
Ludington cut into its deficit with a 33-yard field goal from Jonah Peterson.
Craner added a 13-yard touchdown run to give the Vikings a 13-3 lead heading into the second half.
Camden Thompson increased the Vikings advantage with a 4-yard run to give Whitehall a 21-3 lead.
The Orioles scored their lone touchdown of the game with a 12-yard pass from Cameron Gunsell to Zachary Graham.
Craner added his third touchdown of the contest from 4 yards out to give the Vikings a 29-10 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
Whitehall scored on a 5-yard run from Thompson and a 44-yard pass to Hunter Osborne.
Craner closed out the scoring with his fourth touchdown of the game, this from 29 yards out. He had 238 yards rushing on 20 attempts.
Thompson went 3-for-6 passing for 54 yards and a touchdown.
The Orioles were paced by Gunsell, who threw for 122 yards on 14-for-19 passing while rushing for 44 yards on 15 carries.
The Vikings are now 5-2 on the season and 5-0 in league play, they will finish up conference action next Friday against Fremont.
Ludington falls to 5-2 on the season and 4-1 in league action. The Orioles will face Orchard View next Friday.
