KALAMAZOO – The Western Michigan Christian volleyball team ended the regular season with a five-set comeback win against Kalamazoo Christian, 16-25, 23-25, 25-23, 25-21, 15-8, on Tuesday.
“We played as a unified team with grit and determination to get this win,” said WMC coach Amber Sandin. “We struggled in the first set, but we found our groove midway through the second set and were unstoppable the rest of the match. Great way to end the regular season.”
The Warriors’ Madie Folkema led the way with 19 kills and four aces. Abby Leffring added 16 kills and four blocks, while Hannah Heiss chipped in 12 kills and 11 digs. Gracie Wiersema made six blocks.
WMC will be at home on Wednesday, Nov. 6 to face Ravenna in the Division 3 district opener.
