The Spring Lake Laker girls’ golf team finished in a tie for sixth place at this weekend’s Division 2 two-day MHSAA state golf finals at The Meadows on the campus of Grand Valley State University.

Dull shot identical rounds of 73 for a 146 total as the Lakers finished at 710 for the two days.

Farmington Hills Mercy claimed the state title with a score of 677.  Dexter finished runner-up at 682 and Lowell was third at 688.

Besides Dull, the Lakers had junior Finlay Cousineau and sophomore Reagan Bennett at 186, Ellie Cavalier, a junior, at 196 and junior Casey Ireland at 197.

Mona Shores’ senior Mayson Southland finished seventh with scores of 80-82–162. Reeths-Puffer sophomore Sophia McCollum finished 17th at 81-87–168. Both golfers qualified for state as individuals.

Avery Manning from Dexter was the tournament medalist with a 69-72–141.

Division 1 at Katke (Ferris State University)

Grand Haven freshman Colbie Livingston finished 30th in her first appearance at the finals. She shot round of 87-89 for a two-day total of 176.

Farmington Hills Mercy was the team champion with a 677. Dexter was second with a 683 and Lowell was third at 688.

Alena Li from Okemos was the individual medalist with a score of 73-73–146.

Division 3 at Bedford Valley (Battle Creek)

Whitehall, the area’s lone entrant as a team, finished 12th at 767.

Grand Rapids Catholic Central won the team championship at 652, a 65-stroke margin over runner-up Detroit Country Day (717).

Grace McDowell led Whitehall with an 88-86–174. Freshman Riley Shafer had 94-90–184, Morgan Garcia had 105-99–204, Felicity Dingman had 103-102–205 and Kelsie McClure was at 105-108–213.

Fruitport’s Mylee Mineni qualified as an individual and finished 28th with rounds of 91-87 for a total of 178.

Grand Rapids Catholic Central’s Lilliani O’Grady was the medalist at 75-70–145.

Division 4 at Forest Akers West (Michigan State University)

The Montague Wildcats earned a sixth-place finish and North Muskegon was 11th in the Division 4 state finals.

Cadence Fox led the Wildcats at 101-93–194, followed by Brynlee Kessler at 100-95-105, Braylyn Bultema with a 104-92-196, Addi Smith at 101-98–199 and freshman Marguerite O’Connell with 111-112–223.

North Muskegon’s Mila VanTol was the best finisher for the Norse at 102-105–207. Grace Sheler had 112-99–211 while a pair of freshmen, Presley Prasad and Laynie Priebe both finished at 224. Prasad had rounds of 111-113 and Priebe shot 117-107. Senior MacKenna Mylenek shot a 102 in the first round, but had to withdraw from the meet.

Two Holton individuals qualified for the meet. Senior Emmalee Fox shot a 106-113–219 and junior Monica Mullins had 115-112–227.
