ROCKFORD – The Grand Haven football team dropped an OK-Red matchup, 49-14, against state-ranked Rockford on Friday evening.

The Bucs trailed just 21-14 after the first two quarters, but the Rams came out of the break swinging with a 21-0 scoring advantage to put the game out of reach.

Quarterback Luke Berry was 9-of-24 for 184 yards with two touchdowns. Will Korenstra caught three passes for 81 yards and a 57-yard score. Xzavier Rodriguez had two receptions for 68 yards and a touchdown. Alex Dixon had five receptions for 60 yards.

Andrew Willemsen went for 109 yards on the ground on 33 rushing attempts.

Carson Tithof and Sawyer Harrison led the Bucs’ defense with six tackles apiece. Connor VanBeek added five tackles, including a sack. Rodriguez made four tackles.

Grand Haven (2-6) will close the season on Friday at Jenison.
