SPRING LAKE – The Spring Lake volleyball team was edged out by Hamilton (25-23, 25-20, 25-13) in an OK Conference-Black match on Monday evening.
“Unfortunately, we gave up seven point leads in the first two sets,” said Spring Lake coach Edward Bailey. “Service kept them out of system but we could not sustain the lead.”
Katherine Penning led with seven kills, one ace and five digs. Brianna Kirby chipped in six kills, one ace and a block, while Brooke St. George added three kills and five aces. Aliya Williams threw in three kills and three blocks. Audrey Marine made 16 assists and had five digs.
Also, Lauren Nicles contributed nine digs on defense for the Lakers.
Spring Lake (8-20, 3-8) will host Zeeland West on Wednesday for league action to close out the regular season.
