The Hart Pirates used back-to-back shutout quarters to take down visiting Orchard View in a 44-14 homecoming win on Friday night.

The Pirates were in a 8-8 tie after the first quarter then proceeded to outscore Orchard View 28-0 in the second and third quarters combined. Hart led 24-8 at halftime.

Kyle Greiner led Hart’s ground attack rushing for 119 yards on 19 attempts and found the end zone on a pair of touchdown runs. Greiner scored on runs of 14 and 2 yards.

Hart scored the game’s first touchdown on a 55-yard TD catch by Ty Schlukebir from quarterback Eman Hertzler.

Orchard View’s Peyton Babbit responded with a touchdown pass to Damari Wright to tie the score, 8-8.

Greiner then started the scoring run for Hart on a 14-yard burst and a 16-8 lead. Keaghan Monroe’s touchdown run added on six more points just before halftime for a 24-8 lead.

The third quarter was more Hart as Greiner completed a 2-yard TD run and the Pirates took a 30-8 lead. Halen Boss added to the Pirates’ lead on a 2-yard run just before the end of the third.

Julian Vazquez capped off Hart’s scoring on a 2-yard run late in the fourth quarter.

Hart was led on defense by Brody Clark with seven tackles while Kyle Greiner had six and Hertzler had five.

Darius Flowers Jr. led Orchard View’s defense with 10 tackles. Thomas Klein finished with nine tackles and Tyler Sandifer had five.

Hart is now 3-4 overall and will host Hesperia for its Week 8 matchup. Orchard View falls to 1-6 and travels to Ludington next week.
